The abundance of renewable energy resources that Kingdom of Bahrain has, including solar and wind, open the way to enormous opportunities for the future, as sources of energy and pillars for the economic diversification and international leadership.
Renewable energy is clean and non-exhaustible, and pivotal factor for building a reliable, resilient, and sustainable energy system. By introducing renewable energy into the energy mix and adopting energy efficiency policies, Bahrain can build a more resilient and diversified energy system and optimize on the economic value of all energy resources in the mix.
In this year’s iSEE, we are launching the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs award for renewable energy.
The Renewable Energy Award (REA) will aim at recognizing the efforts undertaken by individuals, governmental entities, private sector, and non-governmental organizations in developing innovative and impactful renewable energy solutions using solar, wind and other renewable energy resources, that contribute to the welfare of Bahrain’s communities and natural environment, and improve the enabling environment and infrastructure for an equitable and technologically advanced sustainable energy transitions.

Call for Applications
The REA Judging Panel will be accepting applications for the award during the months of June and July 2022.
The REA will identify, examine, promote, and reward efforts in developing innovative practices, projects, and initiatives in renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind power, and other renewable energy sources.
